A friend is always loyal, and a brother is born to help in time of need

5/30/2016

Proverbs 17:17

The wealth of friendship is not found in the mere number of those around you but in the quality of character among those whom you call friends. Be the type of friend that you want others to be to you. We have been blessed to have many who fit the biblical description provided in Proverbs. Our prayer is that God will work within us that we might be the same type of friends to others.

Make It Count!

5/30/2016

When the time comes for others to read our last will and testaments may they reflect the value of lives that were lived according to God's will and testaments. Exaggerated claims of legacy last a little longer then the length of time that you will remember this post. Christ in the center of our lives will leave His influence in and through our lives for generations and into eternity. Make it count!

From the Cradle to the Grave - this life is a journey

5/23/2016

The Difference Maker is the presence of the Lord on this journey. He leads me and He is my Oasis and He is my green pasture.

My heart is to share and encourage people to enjoy the intimate and indwelling fellowship and the nourishment that the Lord provides on the journey. So yes you can say that I Delight myself on this journey called life, knowing that my savior is my Oasis and He is my green pasture and if I can help peo
ple discover that fact I believe too that they will enjoy the journey knowing that he is with us. So yes absolutely I enjoy the journey as I advance toward eternity. He is my pasture and He is my Oasis.

Psalm 23 tells me that I'm on a journey and that he is with me always. So yes I do take great Delight in this journey called life moving toward eternity knowing that my savior is with me and he is my provision and in him I am nourished and well fed and my spirit is whole. If as a pastor I can lead people to a greater appreciation of the Lord's presence on this journey I will do that. I feel sorry for anyone who does not find joy in the journey. There is a destination at the end of this journey but until then he is my Supply and he is my source. I love the journey because he walks with me and he abides in me.

Don't give up

5/17/2016

When the man who wrote 13 books of the New Testament was close to giving up he was rescued by God

2 Corinthians 1:8-11New Living Translation (NLT)

8 We think you ought to know, dear brothers and sisters, about the trouble we went through in the province of Asia. We were crushed and overwhelmed beyond our ability to endure, and we thought we would never live through it. 9 In fact, we expected to die. But as a result, we stopped relying on ourselves and learned to rely only on God, who raises the dead. 10 And he did rescue us from mortal danger, and he will rescue us again. We have placed our confidence in him, and he will continue to rescue us. 11 And you are helping us by praying for us. Then many people will give thanks because God has graciously answered so many prayers for our safety

Are your shoes too big or too small?

5/5/2016

If you're tired of trying to be someone other than who God has so masterfully created you to be and you're weary of trying to walk in someone else's shoes, take them off and put on the only shoes that you were ever intended to wear - YOUR OWN. As the Holy Spirit birthed you into spiritual life, Christ in you will match your feet to the shoes that God has prepared for you. HIS DNA in your soul determines the size of the shoes that you are made to walk or run in. When determining whose shoes you are going to try to wear, don't allow those who underestimate or overlook you, those who belittle Christ's workmanship in you, to make that determination.

John the Baptist knew who he was and he knew who he wasn't. He knew that he was not worthy to loosen the laces of Christ's sandals and he certainly didn't fixate on trying to wear them. Instead he wore the footwear consistent with the needs of a man who was ordained by God to run announcing in advance the coming of the Christ whose sandals he was unworthy to untie. Additionally, as a gift from God he is the recipient of an extravagant robe of pure white perfectly tailored in the hands of Grace and Truth.

What a great deal - that those who love the Lord should be afforded shoes that are perfectly fitted for the journey and a spectacular garment at the end of it.
