Character
The Word of God makes it clear that character cannot be made to shine by merely adding window dressing. Character is an internal quality, in need of transformation though the finished work of Christ and by the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit. Jesus taught that it produces revealing external evidence of what lies within.
The character of Christ within, does not manipulate people with partial truths or deliberate fabrication for personal advancement or the defamation of others. The scriptures indicate that Godly character is transparent and that it does not recoil from the light. It does not seek the cover of darkness and it does not throw in with bad character.
Christ within, is demonstrated in selflessness and love. God grows His children in His grace so that in them He will be more. Thank God, our Heavenly Father for His loving patience and transforming grace, for apart from Him nothing good lies within.
Matthew 12:34 ......How can you, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. 35 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things, and an evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things. 36 But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.
Psalm 51:10 Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
