As I think about heaven and what it will be like to be there I am considering the things that will be great about it. It is established in my faith and in my heart that the greatest joy will be to see the Lord. That Joy will be even greater because of the person who's not going to heaven with me. There's not enough room in heaven for the new man and the old man. Together they would strive in continued conflict throughout all eternity. I'm elated that the new man that I am in Christ will be able to worship, to obey, to love, to serve, and to be fully devoted to the Lord uncontested.
The internal conflict, the self-generated complications, and gnawing inconsistencies produced in the struggle between the two natures will cease forever. Never again will I choose sacrifice over obedience, never again will I speak out of both sides of my mouth, and never again will I be half-hearted about the things that God is passionate about. I will be able to enjoy all that heaven is because the contest between the two natures will be over. At death the old man and the new man are going to forever part ways. Until then I must remind him daily that he's is crucified with Christ. There is no room in heaven for the old man.
Thank you Jesus!
